Charles S. Lahti

July 28, 1927- August 23, 2002

Passed away August 23, 2002, at Mariner Health Care, Palm City, FL. Mr. Lahti was born in Iron Mountain, MI, and resided in Palm City, FL for 18 years, moving there from Kalamazoo, MI. He was a graduate of Northern Michigan University. After teaching (science) many years, he retired from the Portage Public School system as a school administrator. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a memerof Palm City Presbyterian Church and Martin Downs Country Club. Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Elisabeth of Palm City; two daughters, Jill and husband Vincent Kidd of Cordova, TN, Suzanne and husband, Daryl Ost of Kalamazoo, MI; and a son, Stephen Lahti and wife, Lina of Los Alamitos, CA. His step-children include Ronda Stryker and husband, William Johnston of Portage, MI, Patricia Stryker of Fort Collins, CO, and Jon Stryker of Kalamazoo, MI. He also leaves a sister, Jane Fredrickson of Flushing, MI; and a brother, Robert Lahti of Ellicott, MD; and eleven grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, September 5, at 2 p.m. at Palm City Presbyterian Church with Dr. Raymond Gamble officiating. Contributions may be made to the Palm City Presbyterian Church for missions. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of All County Funeral Home, Palm City, FL.
